Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before stumbling.
It is better to be humble in spirit
with the lowly than
to divide the spoil with the proud.
Proverbs 16:18,19 NASB
To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and
arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.
Proverbs 8:13 NIV
He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife:
but he that putteth his trust
in the LORD shall be made fat.
He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool:
but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
Proverbs 28:25,26 KJV
You rebuke the proud - the cursed, who stray from
Your commandments. Remove from me reproach and
contempt, for I have kept Your testimonies.
Psalm 119:21,22 NKJV
